Looking for a diversion on your way to the conference? The fourth floor of Aiina will be packed with booths for an information fair on the home of this year’s LCWS: Iwate Prefecture! Learn more about the ILC candidate site in the Kitakami mountains, try some Iwate food, and hear about things to do and see while you’re here.

Welcome to: Researchers and all other attendees of LCWS, and anybody else who’s interested!
What’s in store
-Information on closeby cities like Hachimantai, Kitakami, and Hanamaki as well as coastal destinations like Kuji and Rikuzentakata
-Try local delicacies provided by JA, the agricultural co-op
-Movies about regional tourist spots
-A booth manned by Iwate Prefectural University (current president: Dr. Atsuto Suzuki, former director of KEK)
-Booths about the IEEE conference, the history of the ILC, the reconstruction from the 2011 earthquake and tsunami
–Try some Japanese cultural activities, like flower arranging (ikebana) and tea ceremony!
-And of course, learn more about Iwate Prefecture itself: its culture, agricultural industry, and traditional craftwork
