Members of the ILC Supporters came to do PR for the ILC project at the National Craft Beer Festival in Ichinoseki on August 25th, which was held at the Ichinoseki Culture Center in Otemachi, Ichinoseki City.

U Kimura (designated an Ambassador of Kawaii by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and l0cal on-air talent Fuji-pon went on stage to talk about the ILC and the ILC Supporters group. Prof. Takeshi Doumae, a researcher at KEK in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture, presented Ichinoseki Mayor Osamu Katsube a copper beer glass shaped like a cryomodule (the device that would hold the superconductive cavities that would smash electrons and positrons together at the ILC).

At the Ichinoseki Library next door, ILC dioramas and manga panels were on display, and Ms. Kimura also held a photo shoot.

Keiko Endo, a local civil servant from Yamanome, Ichinoseki, said, “Ms. Kimura was so cute. I hope this leads to the ILC being hosted here.”
